Finding Garden Cottage Nursery

We are rather out-in-the-sticks.  So some directions might help you get here:
To find us on a map of Scotland look at the top of the Isle of Skye and go east till you hit the mainland, this should put you around Gairloch.  We are 7½ miles north of Gairloch along the A832 (the main road).
To get here from Inverness, capital of the Highlands and our nearest city, a mere 85 miles away; Take the A9 North over the Kessock Bridge, and continue to Tore Roundabout, then Follow the signs for Ullapool & Garve on the A835.  Continue on the A835 at the Connon Bridge Roundabout heading for Ullapool & Garve.  After Garve you have a choice, either continue on the A835 ('The North Road') or turn left onto the A832 ('The South Road') for Achnasheen.

Getting here via the 'South Road': From Garve; turn onto the A832 for Achnasheen, continue through Achnasheen & over the roundabout for Gairloch.  Keep on going through the spectacular Glen Docherty and Kinlochewe, along beautiful Loch Maree and through Gairloch, then climbing back inland descending 5 miles (8kms) later in to Poolewe, at the head of Loch Ewe, continue past Inverewe Gardens for another 2kms past a small Lochan with a Rhododendron covered islet on the left & then a larger Loch on your right, slow down after the loch as the turning is marked by a sign just over the next crest.  Turn Right (east) through the gate with the Sitka spruce behind and opposite the barn, we are down the drive 200m.

Getting here via the 'North Road': Continue along the A835 past Aultguish Dam until Braemore Junction (the first junction since Garve) turn left here onto the A832 for Aultbea, Poolewe & Gairloch. Shortly after the junction is Corrieshalloch Gorge, the deepest in Scotland, the next lay-by affords a wonderful view down Strath More towards Loch Broom. Follow A832 for 35ish miles (56kms), passing Gruinard Island & Aultbea after which you climb up again with spectacular panoramic views from the top.  As you start descending back to the flat fields you enter Tournaig, there is a tall brick tower on the right 600m before the turning, which is marked by a sign by a gate on the left hand (east) side of the road.

Though the linear distance is shorter along the 'South Road' due to some single track sections which haven't been upgraded yet on the South Road, both routes take the same time to get to Tournaig form Inverness.

So if you are coming from The East why not come one way & return the other.
If you are coming from
Skye or via Kyle of Lochalsh you drive along the A890 up Glen Carron & join the A832 at Achnasheen Roundabout & follow the 'South Road' instructions from there.

If you are coming from Ullapool or further north, head for Dingwall & Inverness on the road SE from Ullapool (A835) past Lael and turn right at Braemore Junction and follow the ‘North Road’ instructions from there.
